The waves engulfs the shore and caress my feet...
The waves retreat back..
The sea is ravishing at night. She tends to be oozing some beastly pleasantness. And the scene changes every second. I have portrayed these subtle changes in this quads (4 canvas) series. Also, the sand on sea shore has a visual glittery that could be combined effort of the moon and the radiating waters. Turquoise, black, ivory, copper.

Love and nature both exhibit a bounty of hues. "Mon amour" is my visual interpretation of Anne Finch's intriguing poem "A Nocturnal Reverie"
For this day that awaits, For all the moments that were not together, Come to me.
A Bernhard Requichot inspired style. What could be a better style to express a mystic talisman that is so deeply associated with snakes and magic; lurking in the house of that Indian mystic..?
My interpretation of south Asian temples which are now in ruins. The remains convey a deep and mystic story of the past that I have potrayed here - the emotions of the people, their thoughts, their way of life & how every great thing that goes down, will be recorded by history and will be touched and felt deeply by a future that visits it.

This "elephant" is from my sister's trip to the state of Kerala... I took him out of her picture and put him into his new place in this painting, a sunset evening when he is taking a trip to the waters to quench his thirst. He is all decked up and in all his majesty!
the voice within..Acrylic on canvas/framed (11.8 x 7.9 in)
A nude lady in twilight. A confident pose and a play of twilight shadows upon her skin
A black dominant realism abstract that brings together the paradox of penury and abundance. A lady who works in the bangle shop, her penury and the abundance of bangles that she helps sell...

The process of creating art in my studio
Art for me is like trekking by the mountains. The trekker toils for hours, and once atop looks down from his destination: the exhilaration he experiences! In the act of creating art I sweat, pant and plod along only to drink from that moment which the piece portrays. Through my art, I like to share that moment with you.
My Art philosphy
Its a humid day, sweat trickles down my spine and my temples. I wait for it to happen. I have been on the waiting for many impatient days, many uncountable hours. Why doesnt the sky open and shower down to the cracked earth? I have learnt to live with the same uneasiness. I forget about it.
Then it happens.. The drops trickle down from what seems like a sky located millions of light years away.. For the next few long minutes the drizzle caresses the things on earth like a masseur. After that the monsoon gathers momentum, force, and a boldness... Monsoon splashes like she was bewitched...
My inspiration to create art is as natural as the nature can be - Raw, virgin, bold, mild, shocking and moving...
Inspiration for my art
I am a self-taught artist who grew up in India amidst a 'palette' of colors and patterns. The harsh yellow of turmeric, the shocking red of 'sindhoor' amongst others. Living in Europe in a stark contrast to where I grew up, I try to imbibe techniques and forms that is representative of many civilisations/cultures and try to portray in a modern cut.

Leaf-autumn theme
The progress of autumn is evident every other day. The shades of the leaves from the "fall" are too exotic to be not themed. I love the ochres, the dark plum with the reds. A leaf theme is unavoidable on my canvas. I finished painting and photographing the two paintings of this theme. I was not satisfied with the way one of the pictures turned out. Now I am praying hard for the sun to show up bright and good in my part of the world, so I can try photgraphing them again.

Gradient priming & photography
I am definitely in for repeating the worli-inspired gradient series like that of "downpour and conquer". Today I did a basic priming and went on with a patience-filled and painful gradient priming. By this gradient priming I mean creating a gradient that accomodates the main color and the associated blends. I especially love the gradient of a leafy green plus varying greens with earth brown. Jus like in the fields. Requires evening out the tones in every zone and blending them well. Jus like blending eyeshadow perhaps. Now the canvas is all ready and drying to be painted on with the theme. Mostly will be a "worli" inspired theme too. Lets see.
Besides, I did the long pending photography of my new series of leaf abstract. "Ochre mystic" is ochre violet abstract with a Requichot effect. "Crisp testimony" is a retro style leaf abstract with new experiments with light reflecting pigments.

Built in blog in this website
Creating art is like a personal emotion that is demonstrated. Through this journal I would like to update readers and fellow artists about my everyday art progress. The inspirations, the techniques, the errors, the little achievements and so forth.
How satisfying is a good priming job on the canvas. It excites the artist to think about the humpteen prospects that will fill up the yet blank, but peaceful surface waiting to be transformed into a scene of events.
