changing Cylinder Heads?
i have a bbc 454 bored out .060... one of my stock heads is no good and i don't have the money right now to have them reconditioned... I have a set of stock heads off a bbc 366... I know they fit, the only difference is the valves are smaller which is bad... but the combustion chamber is smaller which is good... looking for advise. thanks john.
smaller combustion chamber will increase your compression ratio, and the combo you describe might increase it out of pump gas range. Also running smaller valves on a 454 would choke it of air and make it run worse in conjunction with the higher compression. I would save up and recondition your 454 heads or try to swap you 366 heads for some 454 heads.
