How do I tell whether my tie-end rods are loose or worn?

I have a '94 eagle vision, the driver's side wheel vibrates/woobles at high speed, and also upon hard braking. I recently changed out the brake pads, but I don't believe that should have anything to do with. Do I just need an alignment or wheel balance?? When the car is jacked up, I am able to move the wheel in and out if I grab the top and bottom. I'm not sure if it's the tie-end rods or the ball joints??? I want to do the job myself and just get it aligned afterwards. My driver's side tire has also began "cupping" like a formation of a slight bulge on the outer side of the wheel. Please help...

This definitely sounds like worn tie rod ends. The vibrations and free play of the wheel are tell-tale signs, as well as the tire wear pattern. However, there may be other problems in addition to tie rod ends based on the symptoms you describe. The free play of the wheel could also be worn bearings on that particular wheel. And the vibrations upon hard braking could indicate warped brake rotors as well.

Start with the tie rod ends, but you might end up doing additional repairs.

Installation weight of the hopper with a load cell voltage

1. Installation of the hopper weight including:

a stiff support frame as a bundle of support extends substantially horizontally at a first height;

weighing hopper with a variable weight and center of gravity laterally adjacent structure, said hopper including a substantially flat front wall oriented transversely to the load of the beam and has a width and height dimension;

considerable resources to support the weight of the mass hopper through a load cell interposed between the frame and the weight hopper, said ways to support the weight of the hopper and a vertically oriented bar that upper and lower parts of the bar attached to the support beam and the other of these parts of the bar attached to the support means mounted on the front wall of the hopper weight, so that the parties attached to the bar is located at an altitude above and below the center of gravity of the hopper, which confirms the weight of the hopper and substance in its entirety by the bar and said load cell, and

restriction means in the form of semi-flexible strips connected laterally between the frame and the hopper, to prevent movement horizontal hopper weight while allowing vertical movement of the hopper.

The installation of the hopper weight (10) includes a rigid support (14) and a hopper (16) having a center of gravity (42) located adjacent to the lateral structure. Virtually all the weight of the hopper is supported by a cell load (54) carried by a bar (50) between the frame and the hopper, preferably in blood. Members of the restriction (62, 64, 74) are connected laterally between the frame and the weight hopper, to prevent horizontal movement of the hopper while allowing the vertical movement of the hopper.

2. In the hopper extends vertically from a height greater than the first structure at a height less than the second frame.

3. When the load cell is substantially the same vertical height as the center of gravity hopper.

4. When the containment means comprises only two upper retaining beyond the means of supporting the hopper weight and one member down below the restriction means of support hopper.

Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to the weight of hoppers, such as those used to measure a fluid such as solid food or similar.

By convention, when a dry product is measured by a hopper or container harvest by weight of a load cell is used with the hopper. This configuration provides a positive means for applying the product, which can be configured to alarm if material bridge or stuck in the feeder. Despite the conventional hoppers weight function satisfactorily, the support system to the hopper of a relatively complex or to cooperate with multiple load cells. This often hinders the free access to the top of the hopper . In addition, the need for lateral support often hampers at least two or three sides of the hopper weight.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is therefore an object of this invention to provide a weight of the hopper by a simple but effective, low cost load cell.

It is another object of the cell and load support structure of the hopper to tax only on one side of the hopper.

Installation of the hopper weight according the invention comprises a support frame rigid seat, a hopper located laterally adjacent to the structure, and the media, as a member of the bar significantly support the weight of the hopper with a load cell interposed between the frame and the hopper. To keep the static balance of weight hopper, three lateral horizontal restraints, preferably constructed of plastic compounds semi-flexible, extend between the frame and the hopper. Semi-flexible constraints to maintain the hopper in a stable position, however, does not eliminate the vertical load of the bar and the load cell.

Preferably, the member of the bar extends vertically, and subjected to vertical loads if the tank is empty or contains sec. Only a couple of moments to develop minimum on the axis perpendicular to the planes along which the structure-side constraints to the extension of the attachment in the hopper. The side constraints are capable of carrying the small moments of this axis, which eliminates the need for restraint systems installed in more than one side of the hopper.

This simple weight system is virtually maintenance free, cost affected by dirt and pollution, and weak, because there is no bearing or surfaces.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Numbers. 1-3 show a weight hopper 10 installed in a factory or a factory, which consists of components base of a beam 12 or similar that would normally be part of the building structure, a support structure 14 welded or otherwise rigidly to the beam 12, and a set of hopper 16, with the support frame 14 and, indirectly, by the beam 12.

The hopper assembly 16 may have a variety of ways which do not induce great couples in the media. The hopper 16 preferably comprises a body part 18 which is deposited in dry and power of 38 is jointly and severally, or rigid, the lower body 18 by overlapping flanges 34, 36.

The body portion 18 includes a first vertical or nearly vertical wall 20, opposed, parallel sides 30 extending perpendicularly to the front wall 20 and a sloping wall 22 at the rear. The upper body 18 may include a substantially rectangular box 24 which defines an entry that can be covered by a screen of 26 members hinged in front of the box 24 or the wall 28.

The bottom left of the body part 18 defines another opening 32 which leads to Power 38, which contains a power pin or power valve 40, as is well known in the art. For the purposes of the present invention, parts of the weight of the hopper 18 and 38 can be considered a center unit, the rigid body of gravity 42. The hopper 16 is preferably symmetrical around an axis of symmetry 43 which extends between the front wall 20 and rear wall 22.

The support structure 14 is interposed between the beam 12 and the hopper 16. Preferably, the support structure, or saddle, includes a column 44 extending vertically from the horizontal beam 12, a distance that is preferably less than the full vertical dimension of the hopper 16. A support beam 45 extends horizontally from the pillar 44 in a first elevation, perpendicular to the front wall of the hopper 20, preferably along a line extension of 43 the hopper of symmetry, viewed from above, as shown in the figure. 2. Near the free end or cantilever support beam 45, a rigid bar having a top 50a, 50b and a back wall before extending vertically adjacent controller 20 of the hopper. The top 50th anniversary of the rod is fixed, as in 52, the support beam 45 and 50b of the party lower is rigidly fixed to the hopper 16 by a weight fixed on a stand of 58 to 56, which is, in turn, welded or otherwise formed as a part of the hopper.

A heavy load cell 54 is interposed between the upper and lower portions 50a, 50b, the stem, to generate an output signal comensurate the burden of stress. This tension arises from the agreement for substantially all of the weight of the hopper 16 and its contents is supported by the stem 50 and 54 associated cells. In the example shown, the load is a load of stress, and the cell is a load cell voltage. A suitable low-cost cells is commercially available as the Type-S TC-500-500 Micro Systems Eagle, Chester Springs, Pennsylvania

As can be seen more clearly in Fig. 2, the symmetry axis of the hopper 43, if extended horizontally passes either through the load cell or the top or bottom of the bar portions 50a, 50b. As used herein, the term "semi-flexible" means that the material is able to carry loads of high voltage and at least moderate compression loads without angle, but it is relatively elastic response to loads bending.

It should be appreciated that while a tension bar and the achievement of the tension load cell were revealed, the principle of this invention can also be implemented with a rod and compression load cell compression. In such embodiments, the beam higher load 45 is below the center of gravity, and the junction 58 of the hopper weight is above the center of gravity 42.
